A text search can include style, product type, material, color, budget, or intended use. An image supplies visual context. Combining both helps distinguish the visual reference from the changes you want.
Supported product links and Shopify identifiers can be resolved into a product reference before a similarity search.
How matching works
Search and similarity results come from Shopify's Global Catalog. Depending on the request, matching can use query meaning, visual appearance, product identity, category, and buyer context such as delivery country.
Similarity is not a statement that products are identical, interchangeable, or made by the same manufacturer. Always review specifications, dimensions, compatibility, and merchant policies.

- Available product options and variants.
- Availability and limited-stock signals where supplied.
- Seller identity and merchant policy links.
- Ratings and review counts where available.
- Catalog-derived product features and technical information.
Checkout and responsibility
Product details are refreshed when you open a product or comparison. Before checkout handoff, we revalidate the selected variant and ask you to confirm if its price, seller, or variant changed.
